Have you accidentally deleted a photo or other file and needed it back or even deleted the photos off your camera by accident? This might just work for you. Every time you delete a file it stays right where it is until it is overwritten by another file. When it will be overwritten is a guessing game but obviously the more you have saved the higher the chance your file has been overwritten.
If you discover you want a file back then do not do any more work. Do not save any more files. Ideally you would use a No Install programme to retrieve the file/s because even the act of installing a programme for file recovery might cause the file you want to be overwritten. This is where this version of Recuva might be a life saver. Unfortunately you will have to download it which in itself might overwrite your deleted file so if you can, download Recuva to another computer and extract it onto a USB drive or CD to use.
This is so simple to use, anyone can do it. All you do is open the downloaded file (after extracing it from the zip file), select the drive you want to recover from and Click Scan. This is what I saw when I took it for a test run on a drive that has files deleted and new stuff written every day

All you do next is tick the file you want to recover and click the Recover button in the bottom right. You will be asked where you want to recover the file to. If you have more than one hard drive recover it to a different drive or you might happen to overwrite the file you are trying to recover. I fyou can't distinguish the file you want the "recuva" the lot - you can always redelete what you don't want.
